Liam Gallagher has collaborated with Bee in the City on a Rock ‘n’ Roll Bee. He put the finishing touches to the Bee ahead of his storming set at the newly renamed Parkalife festival on Sunday.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Bee fuses artist Julie Dodd’s original soundwave design with Liam’s iconic rock ‘n’ roll logo. It will be one of over 100 super-size 1.8m Bee sculptures, all painted by different artists, creating a stunning public art trail across Manchester this summer.
Liam’s Bee will join other Manchester legends on the trail including Hilda Bugden, an MCFC Bee, Hac’Bee’Enda, I Wanna Bee Adored, among many more.
At the end of the fun summer-long event, which engages with families and visitors to the city, all the big Bees will be auctioned off to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s We Love Manchester charity, which works to improve the lives and life chances of people in Manchester.
