Bee in the Community 2018

Teams of residents from across the city have taken part in workshops with professional artists to design and create 23 very special Bees displayed all over Manchester.

Funded by the communities themselves, or by a variety of grants, this inspiring collection of Bees is a stunning showcase of ideas, topics and issues that are particularly meaningful to the groups involved and their members.

From 23 July until 23 September you can see all these Bees and explore their neighbourhood locations – including Higher Blackley and Heaton Park, East Manchester and Harpurhey, Collyhurst, Longsight and Levenshulme, Wythenshawe and Didsbury, Old Trafford and The Quays.

At the end of the art trail, the 23 big Bees created as part of the Community Programme will be proudly displayed at the Farewell Weekend alongside other big Bees, but they will not go to auction. These Bees will stay in Manchester for everyone to enjoy; many in their trail locations or nearby.
