Name: Manchester Digital Music Archive – Perspectives
Location: Royal Northern College of Music
Artist: Manchester Digital Music Archive
The inspiration for this display comes from the very nature of our archive, it is crowd sourced and built on a community. As such our volunteers are key to their success, and therefore curate a window each, sharing what the archive means to them, and key items they love about it. They also pay tribute to their co-founder CP Lee, who passed away earlier this year.
Manchester Digital Music Archive is an online archive celebrating the rich musical heritage of Greater Manchester. It is a crowd-sourced archive of artefacts and ephemera, telling the social history as well as the musical legacy. It shines a light on less well known aspects and enables multiple perspectives to be told, so that the diverse nature of the city and its environs are acknowledged in the telling of its history.
