The leaves drop, the colour fades, the days draw in. As the season falls away, nature leaves its monochrome mark. It is dormant and at rest, preparing for the next season’s growth. During these dark challenging times, the cycle of nature reminds us that there will be lighter days ahead.
Charlotte Smithson is an artist who blends craft, design and nature to create 3D suspended glass gardens. Concerned by our fractured relationship with the natural world, her installations share glimpses into the easily overlooked corners of wilderness that surround our everyday lives. Charlotte’s installations have been exhibited across the UK including at RHS Chelsea and the Garden Museum, London. They invite you to tune into the fragility of the world we are losing.
