Inspired by traditional Chinese design, Emperor’s Garden depicts the mythical and powerful creature, the Phoenix, or Fenghuang. A symbol of eternity and foreverness, this repeat pattern portrays the elegant bird dancing forever amongst the foliage.
Lydia Meiying is a freelance Pattern Designer and Illustrator based in Manchester who has been designing a colourful world of whimsical designs for stationery, homeware and apparel for over 10 years. Lydia is inspired by children’s stories, fables and the wonders of the natural world. She creates her designs by hand drawing, cutting and collaging, painting and printing before transferring to her computer where her unique designs can become a multitude of beautiful useful items.
