Name: The Yellow Bee
Designed and decorated by: Selfridges
Sponsor: Selfridges Exchange Square
Spray-painted in Selfridges bold Pantone 109 (otherwise known as ‘iconic Selfridges yellow’), this Bee is inspired by their signature hue and the high-intensity glossy finish of ceramics. Reflecting the buzz of the Selfridges Exchange Square store and the city itself, ‘The Yellow Bee’ symbolises their commitment to a brighter, more sustainable future.
Founded by American entrepreneur Harry Gordon Selfridge in 1909, Selfridges is widely regarded as the first and best example of a modern department store. In 2003 W. Galen Weston purchased the brand and under his ownership Self ridges has become a global destination for fashion, luxury brands and retail theatre. Selfridges Exchange Square opened in Manchester city centre in 2002.
