Name: The Birds and the Bees
Location: Albert Square
Designed and decorated by: Caroline Daly.
Sponsor: Manchester Evening News
Manchester is a warm and welcoming city and people from all over the world have made it their home. This witty Bee, disguised as a bird, celebrates the fact that peregrine falcons have also decided to make Manchester city centre their home. The falcon’s feathers and markings inspired all the patterns and colours that are featured.
The Spirit of Manchester
The Manchester Evening News is this year celebrating 150 years of informing, entertaining and standing up for Mancunians. They are proud to have been with the city every step of the way for a century and a half, through good times and bad. Together, we can look back on our shared past with pride, and look forward with confldence. We are Manchester!
Caroline grew up in the 80s and 90s in South Manchester, listening to tapes, playing with Spirograph and wearing roller skates. (Not all at the same time!) She studied Theatre Design in Liverpool where she developed skills in technical drawing and scenic painting. Now she can be found back at home in Manchester creating detailed hand drawn illustrations. http://www.carolinedaly.co.uk @missdalys
