Name: Rocket, the Steam (punk) Bee
Location: Spinningfiels Square
Designed and decorated by: Sinclair Illustration.
Sponsor: Browne Jacobson LLP
Rocket is inspired by the industrial boom in 19th century Manchester, which led to the city’s rise as a centre of industry, manufacturing, transport and inventive ideas. Steam punk can be described as ‘Victorian inspired science fiction’ (think Jules Verne novels). This mechanical, steam-driven Bee is powered by a newly-invented, clean and sustainable alternative to fossil fuels, and piloted by splendid and daring adventurers!
