Ambrin is a jewellery designer from Manchester. Her Bee celebrates the suffragette movement, reflects on the history of jewellery, and imagines if Manchester had a set of Crown Jewels, what might they look like? One hundred years ago suffragette jewellery (typically green, purple and white) was worn to display support for the cause. Here, a decorative worker bee guards the city’s ‘Crown Jewels’!
A privately-owned contracting and interior fit-out group employing over 3,000 people. Chief Executive Rick Willmott is the fifth generation from the Willmott family to lead our business, which has been carbon neutral since 2012 and the only contractor in the 2017 Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work for list.
Ambrin explores themes of luxury and jewellery to create fun and exciting work with political undertones. Her work is often playful and conceptually intricate. She enjoys using jewellery design and sculpture to surprise people and to encourage new ways of thinking. http://www.ambrin.co.uk
