Castlefield’s Roman fort and the landmarks of the Town Hall and Central Library reflect Manchester’s strong civic foundations. The Refuge Building clock face, chariot and the motto ‘Use Time Wisely’ reinforce the city’s constant industrial momentum. Finally, the Sun Inn (aka Poet’s Corner) reminds us of how creativity and commerce work side-by-side to generate ideas and opportunities in which all Mancunians can share.
