Venture Arts is an award-winning visual arts charity based in Hulme, Manchester, working with over 80 learning disabled artists each week.
Jennie Franklin takes inspiration from found imagery, leaflets and other paraphernalia which she then interprets in her own style. Events and feelings that occur at the time of her drawing permeate the artwork.
Ahmed Mohammed has an instinctive method of drawing in a bold, repetitive style, mainly taking inspiration from his favourite foods.
Barry Anthony Finan works with text, conveying his memories and hopes and dreams for the future. In 2019, Finan’s work was acquired by the Whitworth Art gallery and he exhibited at the British Ceramics Biennial.
